Glidden, The Brand of Paint You Can Trust!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Glidden. All opinions are 100% mine.

After two long months of wait for the building of our house to be finished, our plan of painting the interior with the color of our choice before our move was set aside due to my husband's excitement. He wanted to move in as soon as the closing is done. And so we did pack our things up and moved out of the apartment. Now that we are all settled in, hubby and I finally decided to change the white color on the walls into the color of our choice. And since we both like warm colors, we talk of painting the kitchen wall with warm muffin, guest room with purple and crisp autumn leaves on both living room and hallway. We know our kitchen and living rooms would look great with these colors for we already used them in our first house. We want to use the same brand we used before which was the Glidden. With Gidden, choosing the right color of paint for the other two bedrooms and bathrooms would be easier for us since the store have a tester as well as brochure to what shades of color we want. I am pretty sure that my husband would never mind if I pick the hues of mint green in the bathrooms and aztec gold in the dining area. I think now is the best time to paint since hubby has five days off and that would be enough time to finish painting before the cold season begins.

The great thing about using the Glidden brand paint is that you can test drive the color of your choice with ready to go paint testers. Their paint testers are different from the other brand for it has a handy brush which is included on he lid, and allows you to try it before buying it. Do you know that their testers can be use by kids, too when you do finishing touches, the glidden testers is easier to use and store. Indeed, Glidden is a brand of paint you can trust with every projects you have in mind. With Glidden, finding you fave color palettes is like a piece if cake; choose from their top 10 color palettes and xl paint chips. So, If you are looking for great paint, visit http://bit.ly/bjLb2u where you can try Glidden room painter options. You can even tell your friends who are interested to follow glidden on Facebook, or visit them on Twitter for additional info. Remember, The Glidden™ logo and high-quality photos of Glidden paint are available here: http://izea.com/contest-rules-regulations/glidden-paint-assets/; share your photos and videos on flicker and you tube as well. You'll be glad you did.

Saturday 9: Just Like Me

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Just Like Me

1. Who in your life do you think behaves and thinks the most like you do?
~~ My mother.
2. As a kid, were you ever wrongly accused (and punished, if it went that far) for something you didn't do? If so, what was it? What happened?
~~ Yes, but I can't remember it anymore. One thing for sure, it was my youngest brother's fault.
3. What about as an adult, were you ever wrongly accused for something you didn't do?? Do you think it's worse to be accused as a child or an adult? Why/why not?
~~ Yes, and it was worst because no matter how I much explained myself to them they still chose to believe on what the fortune teller told them. The sad thing is that they didn't even apologize to me when they found out that it my cousin who did it.
3. What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced?
~~ Typhoon or hurricane...happens in the Philippines every year.
4. If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be and why?
~~ Italy...love to live the Tuscan way.
5. Instead of going to work Monday, if you could spend the entire day doing something else--any one or two things that you absolutely love doing--what would you do?
~~ Go to Disney World or Beach with my family.
6. What sites (other than meme sites) do you use most to help you post on your blog?
~~ WebMD, Yahoo, and Wikipedia
7. Check out a post on your blog from six months ago (March 2010) and tell us what is different now about your blog and/or life?
~~ It was a very stressful time for us; we were looking for a house that time and couldn't find any that suit our budget in the area where we want to be. Now that we've found the perfect place, we couldn't be happier.
8. What was the last photograph you took?
~~ The new winter shoes/boots I bought online that arrived today.
9. Which fashion trend do you believe is the most horrendous and why?
~~ Lady Gaga's Trend.

Total Protect Home Warranty Protects Your Investments

I agree 100% when people say that the best investment they have ever had so far was owning a home. My husband and I own a house and I'll say that it is by far the most expensive purchased we have ever had. Aside from a monthly mortgage payment, there this insurance to pay, on top of maintaining it if we want to make it livable for as long as we want to. Buying appliances and furniture is another thing; these are breakable stuffs and therefore they will need replacement or repair whether you like it or not. So if you want to protection for your investment, you need to make sure that it has warranty to cover the unexpected expenses. That's is when the Total Protect Home Warranty comes in. This is like an insurance for you appliances; it can help the burden of paying extra bills bearable. They'll help you pay the repair for an affordable prices compare to other home warranty. File claims as much as you want and they monthly payment wouldn't change.

The best thing about Total Protect Home Warranty is that they will even help you find the qualified repair man anytime of the day for they offers coverage assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including on Holidays. They even provide a customer's access to their Discount Buying Service, which offers up to 30% off brand name housewares for those wishing to upgrade their current electrical appliances. This coverage accompanied certain restrictions and it varies by state, and there is generally an aggregate cap associated with coverage claims. This should never surprise you if it was explained with you beforehand. Visit their site for more info regarding restrictions and other important coverage associated with the home warranty.

Our Food Storage

Here is my small food storage at home. Not much but enough to sustain us when emergency arise. I am glad to have adhere to the counsel of church leaders to be prepared for emergencies. Latter-day prophets have counseled us to build up a food storage and be prepared for emergencies, but why? Here are a few of the main reasons why we should have a food storage program.

1. Commandment from God

Through His prophets and apostles, God has commanded us to have a year's supply of food and other essentials in our food storage. Joseph Smith, the first prophet and president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recorded the following in the Doctrine and Covenants:

"The Church and its members are commanded by the Lord to be self-reliant and independent" (D&C 78:13-14).

Spencer W. Kimball, 12th prophet, taught:

"The responsibility for each person's social, emotional, spiritual, physical, or economic well-being rests first upon himself, second upon his family, and third upon the Church if he is a faithful member thereof" ("Welfare Services: The Gospel in Action," Ensign, Nov. 1977, 76).

L. Tom Perry said:

"Acquire and store a reserve of food and supplies that will sustain life. Obtain clothing and build a savings account on a sensible, well-planned basis that can serve well in times of emergency. As long as I can remember, we have been taught to prepare for the future and to obtain a year’s supply of necessities. I would guess that the years of plenty have almost universally caused us to set aside this counsel. I believe the time to disregard this counsel is over. With events in the world today, it must be considered with all seriousness" ("'If Ye Are Prepared Ye Shall Not Fear'" Ensign, Nov 1995, 35.)

2. Necessary during Emergencies and Natural Disasters

Having a supply of essential foods, clothing, fuel, and water will help us during times of personal and natural disasters. We must be prepared for calamities that may come our way.

3. Gives Us Peace

When we are prepared we don't have to worry about "what if's" because we'll have our food storage and emergency preparedness ready. The Lord said:

"If ye are prepared ye shall not fear" (D&C 38:30).

Having what we need and knowing what to do in the event of an emergency or other calamity can bring us peace and help us overcome fear.

4. Teaches us Basic Food Preparation

Building up a food storage helps us learn how to prepare and use basic foods. Because many items in a food storage only last a certain amount of time it is important to rotate the food by using older items and replacing those items with new ones. When we do this we can learn to use our food storage which in turn will prepare us to know how to use our food storage in the case of an emergency.

River Hiking

Post contributed by Leonard Phelps

Rivers are great places to hike. My son and I love to hike the Dolores River in Dolores, Colorado. Just so our CA home will be safe while we had to find an ADT alarm system near Fremont CA are gone we .

The Dolores River gets really low sometimes so we can walk right along the river. That is our favorite time to hike. Then we can go farther. Once the water is up we hike along the trail that has been made for hiking up until the bridge. Then we have to go along the river trail. All of it is really beautiful. The river runs rather deep in this area so we usually don't swim.

One time when we hiked the Dolores River area we ended up in an old cemetery .We thought it was really neat because some of the headstones were really old. We did notice some newer ones though and found out that we hadn't discovered anything other than the city cemetery.

We love going under the bridge because we usually see a lot of nests under there. They have been built under the bridge. So far we've not seen any birds there.

One way takes you to where the river spills into McPhee Lake. The other goes into the town of Dolores. It's a really peaceful hike. We love hearing the river run as we walk along. It is peaceful and relaxing

FTF: One of my Cravings

When I crave for something yummy, I do everything to make it to my hungry tummy. I wouldn't mind whether all the ingredients are presents; I would cook the food however I want it. Here is a Pancit Canton I made one time when I craved for it.

How about you? Don't let a single ingredient stop you from cooking the dish you are craving for; make/cook the dish whether the ingredients are complete or not. Be creative and feed your hungry tummy.

Our Trip to London

I appreciate the guest post, Vito Rivers

Every year, when we sit down to try to decide where to go on vacation, we make a list of all the places and destinations that our family is considering. Then we try to find travel shows on them on our Satellite TV system. Having DIRECTV in Texas lets us view shows from all over the world, so we have much more to choose from.

After viewing a special on London on Satellite one night, my husband and I looked at each other and we knew in that instance that London would be our next trip. It had something for everyone.

We booked a travel package through our local travel agent, Maggie, that included our air on American Airways and a 5 night stay at the Marriott Kensington Hotel. We decided that the Kensington area would be the best location for our base. The kids loved that they could walk over to the Natural History Museum and I, of course, loved that Harrod's Department Store was nearby.

We got around London on their underground rail system which they call the "Tube". There seemed to be stops all over the city so you didn't have to spend much on taxi's. Our days were spent sightseeing. We saw the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Kensington Palace. London was a great destination where you actually can have lots of fun as you learn about history, culture, and art. We all agreed that this was one of our best family vacations ever.

Natural Health Products

Two months go during one of my regular doctor's visit, they ordered a blood work for me as to check on my prograf level, blood count and glucose measurement. When the result came out after an hour, everything were perfect but the blood count (which was low again) and the Vitamin D level. And so I got another shot of epogen for my blood and a Vitamin D prescription.

Hubby and I try to take the safest medicines and supplements into our body as much so we could; and so we are always on the look for Natural Health Products every time we need one. Since he wants his digestive to be in good shape, he takes Oregano Oil. This oil is rich of vitamins and minerals, promotes properties an an anti bacterial. I, on the other hand take Bio D-Mulsion that helps enhance the vitamin D absorption in my body. So far, my vitamin D level is normal, but I still take it just for maintenance.

I am glad there is a place online that sells natural health products that are safe and effective in maintaining good health as well as treating certain illnesses.

Peace of Mind for You

Another way to show you love your family aside giving them material things are making them financially secure in case something happens to you like death or serious illness or even accident. Buying life insurance can give you peace, knowing that it can provide significant cash benefits for them. Life insurance can help bear the burden of funeral expenses as well as other pending bills that need to be paid off.

If you are looking for an insurance company, Real life insurance offers many options according to your need. They have income insurance to secure your income in case you are unable to work due to sickness or injury. How about Real life cover? This one will help provide for your family and protect the assets you’ve worked hard to create. Aside from funeral cover insurance serious illness coverage is another option, too. After reading these important things online, it gives me peace, hope and assurance that we will never worry or stress ourselves out when serious circumstances arise. Go to their site now and check what other options they offer aside from what I've mentioned here.

Buying Tickets Online

One of the things that I really love about living here in the US is that you can almost buy anything online. You don't need to spend gas or money as fare just to buy what you need or what. All you need is just turn on your PC, search for a reliable online shop and then make a purchase online instantly. After a day or few weeks, you will get what you have paid for at your doorsteps.

Speaking of online buying, I was really excited to have found a site that sells NBA game tickets. I saw that they were selling Chicago Bulls tickets, Orlando Magic tickets, Boston Celtics tickets and many more. I don't have to buy the tickets on site during the game date. I could purchase in advance and just drive there to watch the games immediately! Isn't that cool?

Anyway, the site name is www.ticketamerica.com. They sell all kinds of tickets to sports and entertainment events. They sell MLB, NFL, NHL and NASCAR tickets. They also sell the best theater show and concert tickets. So, if you're planning to take your husband or your children to NBA games or concert shows, you can always get and book your tickets online at www.ticketamerica.com.

My Craving for Burger

I know McDonald's foods are not healthy at all especially when you want to eat their burgers, fries, and milkshakes. But last week, I didn't mind it. I ate half of this burger and the other half and the french fries was eaten by my son. If the fries was sweet potato, my son and I would have had a fight over it. Yes, we both love sweet potato fries. How about you? What is your McDonald cravings?

If I can remember, this meal was the #4. My fave at McDonald menu though is the #3 which is fillet of fish without the cheese.

Favorite Infomercial on TV

Written by my friend Teodoro Martin
My favorite infomercial on TV is the Pro Active one for skin care. Which definitely beats the redundant car commericials and non-stop commercials on best cable tv deals. Seriously, I already have a car and I'm clearly watching cable. But I digress, my daughter has had a skin problem for about a year and a half now and since she has been using the Pro Active product her skin has had a noticeable improvement along with her self confidence.
In speaking to my a friend of mine that I graduated with many years ago she was complaining about a skin problem that both her and her son were both having so of course I informed her about the Pro Active infomercial immediately so she could see for herself too. I received a call from her just last night and she was so excited about the Pro Active infomercial that she called shortly after watching it and ordered her a supply along with her son, which was 3 weeks prior to last night. Wen she called me last night she said that she has seen such an amazing result from using the product for just 1 week and was calling to thank me for giving her the information about it.

Great Looking Outdoor Wall Lights For Lower Price

When we bought our new house, we decided to put everything we want from upgrading the flooring, kitchen cabinets, counter tops, toilet bowl to exterior lighting (for front and back of the house). We didn't get a sensor light since our next door neighbor has installed one. Anyway, talking about exterior lighting, the one we installed was small and so my husband decided to replace it with a new one; the thing is he couldn't buy one unless I agree that I also like the one he would choose.

We went to home improvement stores but couldn't find the one that will match the exterior look of the house. Yup, it needs to match the color and style of the house for it is a homeowners policy. Now, I have to find one online. Good thing that outdoorlighting.com sells outdoor wall light for lower price without compromising its quality. I was like, wow....for they have plenty of style and colors to choose from. I am sure we would be able to find the one hubby and I could both agree on. I really like the one on the picture I attached on this post. Who knows we might even purchase security lights and or motion sensors for our backyard.

You will never look the same way as you read the other use of these items. And I would like to thank Mary Joy for sharing this on Facebook. Now it is time to spread this to blooger around the world :-).

Great Deals on TV's

Last weekend, we were invited to attend a birthday party with some friends. This friend of ours has a very nice and big house. Her other friends were present, too and so her house was full of people who enjoyed the foods as well as the karaoke time. I really like their dogs which are so cute and sweet. While there, my son's anxiety became worst as he didn't want to me leave him; he even went to the bathroom with me. I felt like going home for I couldn't even join my friends singing karaoke. At last when hubby took him for a walk in the neighborhood, I was able to be with my friends. While we were singing, I noticed how big their televisions were both in their bedroom and living room. I was curious and so I asked her where they bought them and how much they've paid for them. She said they bought it when there was tv sale at their favorite online appliance store. Hubby and I were amazed of how much savings they got from buying both tv's.

One of my husband's wish is to get us a new television with big screen for our living room; but I told him that we need to save for it since we just bought a house few months ago. But come to think of it, if we can get great tv deals, then we would be able to afford it sooner that we have expected. Dixon's right now offers low prices on all their appliances including televisions, computers, camera and they would even deliver it for free. I bet my husband would be very happy for this good news.

Great Uniforms and Scrubs

Weeks ago, when my blogger friend’s baby was hospitalized for operation, her mom was able to see most of the uniforms and scrubs used by the hospital staff there in the hospital. She shared that there are some who just wear plain white, like doctors and nurses, while others have some colorful printed on their scrubs. Her daughter was even entertained by those colorful prints and some cartoon characters printed on their uniforms. Her mom thinks she enjoyed looking at those colors which are somewhat playing with her exploring eyes.

There were also those times when a doctor wearing all white suit, her daughter seemed like staring blankly straight on him. Maybe it’s the color of the suit, or the baby had already recognized the difference between the playful nurses and the serious–looking physicians. But on the other hand, my friend admired how white the doctor’s coat can be. She wondered where do they buy white lab coat as stunningly white as those worn by the doctors who attended her daughter.

Anyway, I shared to her that there are many online shops wherein she could buy such white lab coats, hospital uniforms and scrubs just like www.blueskyscrubs.com. There are many online shops that cater readymade uniforms and scrubs.

Discover Something New (Favorite Educational Channel)

Thanks for the guest post by Esteban Vinson

Remember your school days when each day was a brand-new opportunity to discover something new? Well, a favorite educational channel should present such a feeling to their viewers in my view. My favorite educational channel is the Discovery Channel which I view on my www.tvbydirect.com satellite tv several times a week. The Discovery Channel has a wealth of information and programming each night of the week. The viewers are entertained while learning fascinating facts about faraway places and everyday things. One favorite program to watch is Myth Busters. Each program they report on a favorite myth and bust that myth. One of my all time favorite shows was when the team challenged the myth about the bullet proof vest. Another favorite program is Planet Earth. Planet Earth is a fascinating and very informative program that takes the viewer on a journey around the Earth. One week you might be in a dessert, the next in the middle of a rain Forrest. Many people think that their job stinks. And long for a better job. Watch Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel and find out about jobs that really do literally stink. So, it is easy to see why many love watching the Discovery Channel.
