Utah Jazz Comes To Town

Authored by Raymond Whitney

Heading out the door for the day I knew that it would be a jam packed day. I knew that it was going to be busy because of all the work that I had to do at the office, but then after I left there I knew I would need to hurry home. Thankfully when I reached the office that day I could see that the workload was going to be light. Hopefully my boss would let me sneak out a little early, but it was going to be up to him.

After the third meeting of the day and thinking that I was going to pull all of my hair out I knew that it was going to be a challenge to make it through the day in time to leave the office and get home. However, I knew that my wife would be waiting for me and if I was late in picking her up we would miss the Jazz game.

Speeding out of the office later on that afternoon I looked around the house. Seeing that my wife was already home and ready to go I changed quickly. That is when I noticed that we still had to set the Adt Security systems before leaving for the day. After doing that we left the home and headed down to the game knowing that our house was safe.

Different Safety Tips for the Holidays

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

There are many safety precautions that everyone should take during the holiday season. I always follow a few simple steps to ensure that my Christmas is a truly jolly one. One tip that you could make use of is to set your home security alarm from ADT home systems before you leave to do any shopping. This tip might seem simple, but you'd never believe how beneficial it really is. Another tip that I personally always use is to not go out if it's snowing. You might also want to refrain from driving at night if it's recently rained. The rain will actually freeze over and turn to ice. It can be very dangerous to many people on the road.

Obviously, another tip to follow would be to watch the stove when you're cooking anything for the holidays. This might seem like a no-brainer, but it's amazing how many people will burn and overcook things. In fact, it's not uncommon to start a fire if you're planning to deep fry your turkey. I always sit in the kitchen when I'm preparing any holiday feast. This not only protects the home from a potential fire, but it also helps me to keep an eye on something so that it doesn't burn or overcook. By following a few simple steps, you'll be sure to have a safe holiday every single year.

Reminiscing the Past

When I was younger, there a girl named Myrtle in our class. And I thought that her name was very nice. That stayed in my memory.

No wonder that I kind of got interested in the word and I learned that myrtle is actually a plant. Researching further, I learned that there is a site called http://www.horizonmyrtlebeach.com because there is actually a very nice and plush resort called Myrtle Beach. On our way to Florida one summer time to visit my cousin and her family there, my family and I were able to stopped by for few hours and looked around. We even waded on the beach. We actually fell in love in the place and decided to go there someday with my brother in - laws who lives in North Carolina. I couldn't wait for that day...and hopefully it will be soon.

Of course, I got hooked and I looked around some more. This place is a vacationer's heaven. There are many happening places and you can even play golf! It is easy to book a Myrtle Beach hotel in their site for a worry-free vacation. The Myrtle Beach best hotels are of course near the shore because it makes it easy for the guest to reach the beach. It is like when you wake up, you go directly to the beach and take a morning swim. Now, that is what I called life!

FTF: My Food On Tray from the Hospital

I was admitted at the hospital on Wednesday for a kidney Biopsy and has been at the hospital since. I won't be going home till all my treatments are done which would hopefully happen by Sunday. I am just hoping that the treatments would help stop my body from rejecting my kidneys. Anyway, here is one of the hospital menus I ordered and I tell you it isn't bad at all. In fact it was good and healthy.

Winter Woes

The snow can be really nice to look at in pictures. Its pristine whiteness is just relaxing to the eyes. An you can just imagine the marvel of the creation of the snow. I mean, we have rain, but ice falling from the sky? Now that is a marvel thought about God's creation.

However, if you are living in a place where there is winter, snow is just nice if it just fell. But if it continues to fall and becomes ice, moving around could be very difficult. Even if you have a car, you cannot easily get around. That is because your tires need to gear up for the winter. It has to have tire chains so that the car won't skid around the highways that are thick with ice. With tire chains, the tires have a better grip on the road.

There are many kinds of tire chains but I discovered that there are also good ones that are not to expensive such as the Grip that takes only about 2 minutes per tire to install. Finding the perfect tire chains is imperative this season because a lot of snow is still coming until next month!

Buy Designer Shoes Online

Every time I buy shoes for myself, my husband never fails to say this "My Imelda Marcos Wife". He thinks that I have many shoes already and yet, I still buy more. I tell you, my husband exaggerates a lot when it comes to my shoes. I only have two pair of shoes for each season which means I have eight plus two sneakers. And since he only have four pairs, he thinks having ten pair of shoes is too much! He should see my Aunt's collection of shoes! She has tons of designer shoes such as Burberry, LV, and Marc Jacobs to name a few. My shoes are not even expensive compared to my Aunt's shoes. Oh well, he can say whatever he wants, but I will never argue with him about my shoes anymore!

I learned from a friend that the best place to buy shoes is online. She particularly mentioned with me that Zappos carries all the name brand shoes I can think of, from Nike, Skechers, to Burberry. Next time I purchase shoes for my son, I will definitely go online for I can get great deal there too, just like when I shop at the mall or maybe even I'll get a greater savings. One more thing, I learned the hard way that brand name and designer shoes maybe expensive, but they are quality made, fashionable, and last longer that the cheap and inexpensive ones.

A Truly Texan Gingerbread House

Guest post written by Heather Summers

I was born and raised in Texas and after college I just couldn't imagine living anywhere else besides Texas, so I stayed here. This year when I started thinking about what kind of gingerbread house I wanted to make for the holidays, I thought that I should make a gingerbread house that's innately Texan. One thing came to mind and I thought that The Alamo would be perfect.

Even though I basically know what it looks like, I went online to find pictures of it and figure out how to make a gingerbread version of it. When I was looking up that stuff, I found this Austin clear 4g online offer that sounded really good and I signed up for it for our home internet access.

I think that this may have been one of my best gingerbread house ideas ever because once I got it all put together, it looked so great! I think that my husband, whoos a huge history buff was also very impressed with my execution. Which I did try to make it as historically accurate as possible.

Stylish and Comfortable Scrubs

With all the medical attention I get from being sick due to anemia, I see to it that I keep my doctor's appointment every week. For the past four weeks, I have been going to an infusion center at Medical City in Dallas for iron infusion. My blood count is very low and that makes me sick and weak most of the day. I can't hardly functions at all. Good thing I have very supportive and loving husband who helps with the house chores. Anyway, talking about hospital visits and stuffs, I always see many people wearing healthcare uniform, and noticed that even those ordinary workers such as kitchen staffs and maintenance people wear medical scrubs.

Nurses sometimes wear fashionable medical scrub clothing or medical clothing scrubs which I think looks better than the old fashioned white skirts and blouses. They look comfortable and easy to take care of. It is a wash and wear uniform which is best for busy people who are always on the go. Most male hospital workers wear low rise scrub pants, which by the way look good on them, too.

One time, I asked one of the nurses who works at the doctor's office where she buys her uniforms; she told me that he ordered them online at Blue Sky Scrubs. She even mentioned that this online medical uniform shop also carries designer nursing uniforms, surgical scrub hats, lab coat uniforms, scrubs for kids, and dickies medical uniform they've got you covered. There you go; look and feel comfortable with these stylish medical uniforms/scrubs while at work. Visit their site for more info if you work in the field of healthcare.

John Wayne Still One Of The Best After All These Years

The Author of this post is Rory Reilly

Through the years one actor continues to be a star in my eyes and that is John Wayne. He was born Marion Robert Morrison in 1907 and he has a long list of accomplishments to his credit as an actor. He played the lead in 142 of his film performances with numerous awards given. One of my favorite films from John Wayne was True Grit which he won a Best Actor Oscar in 1969. He made so many good films picking just a few out would be tough from this great man. The black and white films he made are some of my favorites as well.

There are many things that made John Wayne the actor stand out for me, but most of all he always did the right things in his films. My dad introduced me to him in a movie called She wore a Yellow Ribbon and I was hooked forever. When I find out a John Wayne movie is on I watch it on satellite television from www.directstartv.com. It seems every weekend or during the week at least one John Wayne film is on. My kids are getting older and they have started to discover John Wayne. He was one guy that transcends time and continues to be very popular even today.
