This dish is one of our family's favorite. I made it my own version. I have put sausage instead of ham hock. This dish is normally served on New Year here in United States for 'good luck' and so we always have it every new year. But yesterday I crave for it, so I made some. Jacob loves it especially the okra.
Aside from this dish, we also have had fried tilapia with Pinoy salad (tomatoes, radish, green mango, green onin, patis for seasoning and also lime. Hubby loves the salad!
What a hearty meal you had! Nakakatuwa si Jacob, he's eating okra! I love the salad, too! here's my FTF entry: http://www.delightmyappetite.com/2011/05/food-trip-friday-hyphys-at-the-veranda/
